About

Yang Style / Yue Substyle Taijiquan Postures and Simple Movements (81 movements) This program teaches the foundations of Yang Style Taijiquan in the Yue substyle, part of the traditional Shanghai Style Taijiquan developed by Yue Huanzhi and Tian Zhaolin, who taught in Shanghai until around 1960. Taoist alchemist, physician, and martial arts expert Dr. Fu Qinglong studied with both masters and transmitted their teachings directly to Prof. dr. Dan K.J. Vercammen, who teaches this material in the West with careful attention to its original principles. The course focuses on postures and simple movements, which form the essential foundation of Taijiquan practice. Through standing and posture training, you learn to develop Qi and fluid circulation, Jin (Taiji energies), Yi (focused intent), and Shen (the refined use of subtle Qi). This allows you to stand — and later move — correctly and effectively. You will practise the 37 core stances, explained in detail, building structure, balance, and internal coordination. Philosophical background, applications, and essential context are included throughout the lessons. This is the first course in a series of online Taijiquan programs, with further training planned on applications, movement sequences, and theory. For whom is this program? Suitable for beginners and experienced practitioners who want to build or refine a solid Taijiquan foundation. No prior experience is required; careful practice is essential. 🌀 365 days of access 🌀 English instruction 🌀 Start whenever it suits you A focused and grounded introduction to traditional Taijiquan foundations.
