Stage 1 — RU 入 (Internalization)

At a Glance

Stage 1 establishes the foundations of Taoist Internal Alchemy (Neidan 內丹) through a structured integration of philosophical study, embodied practice, and internal martial arts.

Students engage with classical sources such as the Daodejing (道德經), the Yijing (易經), and the principles of Ming (命) and Xing (性), while developing internal awareness through Daoyin (導引), Yuanqigong (元氣功), and quiet practice (静功).

At the same time, students begin training in internal martial arts, choosing one primary practice such as:

  • Taijiquan (太極拳)

  • Baguazhang (八卦掌)

  • Shidaxing / Xinyiliuhequan (心意六合拳)

These practices support the development of structure, movement, and the integration of stillness within motion.

Particular emphasis is placed on:

  • Activation and awareness of the Dantian (丹田)

  • Alignment of body, breath, and attention

  • The balance between stillness and movement (靜動)

Training includes approximately 70–80 hours of guided material, combining theoretical instruction and practical training.

Students are supported through:

  • Monthly online sessions with the teachers

  • Weekly reflection and feedback

  • The possibility of submitting practice videos for correction

Teaching materials are released in phases throughout the program, guiding students step by step through the training.

This ensures that attention remains focused, that practice develops in the correct order, and that the material is fully integrated rather than approached superficially.

A daily practice rhythm is essential, allowing gradual and stable internal development rather than intensity or speed.

Participation includes at least one in-person or small group training per year, ensuring direct correction and embodied transmission.

Progress is evaluated through a mid-stage review and final evaluation, forming the basis for continuation to the next stage.
